QUICK CHECKS
Chemical placards
- Confirm
- Use the chemical inventory, current safety data sheets and site hazardous-chemical documentation. The chemical class and quantity determine the placarding needed; do not select from the product picture.
- Approve artwork
- Confirm class symbols, wording, emergency information and tank/container details before manufacture.
- Position
- Follow the approved site placarding layout for entrances, storage areas and containers. Keep signs legible and access/operating equipment clear.
Storage is different from bottle labelling
- GHS bottle-label pictograms do not replace the required dangerous-goods storage placards.
- Where an outer warning placard is required, place it at each workplace entrance emergency services may use. Confirm the applicable jurisdiction and storage arrangement.
